Pilot – Jaana Huhtanen Design

"From intelligence to new sustainable design, fashion, competence and business" -project were pilots implemented together with Tavastia Proper's design and fashion industry enterprises. The purpose of the pilots was to highlight the opportunities and possibilities brought by digitalization for enterprises. With digitalization, operators get new ideas for developing their business. With this, they can stand out in the market, present their products and services in a new way and offer their customers experiences and make it easier to make a purchase decision.

In the pilot, a 3D model of the socks in the company's selection was realized in collaboration between the project and Jaana Huhtanen Design. The modeling made it possible to customize it in terms of sock qualities and patterns. The pilot was carried out by utilizing the Figma software and illustrating the company's website in it, adapting the customer's path and the possibility of customizing the product from parts of predefined sock qualities and patterns. In the pilot, the customer gets a good idea of how different sock qualities affect the pattern - the thicker the thread, the grainier the desired pattern will be on the surface of the sock.

The flower pattern on the sock seen in the pilot of the project is based on the flower patterns of Finlayson-Forssa Oy designer Arja Mattila (1933-2014) from 1972. The original sketch is in the Forssa museum's collection of industrial textiles. The Forssa museum has ordered a sock product from Jaana Huhtanen as a side product of Arja Mattila's biography exhibition.
