HAMK's "From Intelligence to new sustainable design, fashion, competence and business” project aims to offer sustainable solutions to the textile industry's huge negative environmental effects and fast fashion consumption by utilizing digitalization. In the project, together with companies, different ways of utilizing digitalization in business is developed, such as by implementing 3D modeling and videos of products to enliven websites. In addition, the project will pilot product customization possibilities using 3D modeling and take the results of the piloting to a virtual final show.

TUTUSTU HANKKEESSA TOTEUTETTUUN VIRTUAALISEEN NÄYTÖKSEEN
”Häme Virtual – Muodin Muuttuva Maisema” -virtuaalinäytös kokoaa yhteen hankkeessa toteutetut pilotit. Virtuaalinäytös esittelee pilotit elämyksellisellä tavalla hyödyntäen tarinallisuutta ja hämäläisiä maisemia, johon käyttäjä voi uppoutua katsoessaan näytöstä VR-laseilla. Näytöksestä on toteutettu lyhyt video, johon voi tutustua tästä.
DIGITAL TOOLS
Digitalization can be utilized in the design and implementation processes of physical clothing at various retail locations as well as in services such as virtual fitting. The project has compiled a list of useful tools that can be used to promote digital design and fashion in your own business.

- Avatarin luonti with a selfie/picture
- Avaturn
3D scans and modeling
3D scans can be done with separate scanners (for example Artec Eva 3D) or with phones. The difference in these is the intended use of the final product - is accurate modeling necessary or is modeling the appearance sufficient. The following programs are intended for fast modeling, i.e. if you want a quick way to scan an object into a digital 3D model without additional processing.
- RealityScan + Sketchfab
- Scan an object with your phone, which becomes a 3D model. The use of the app is free, but the further use of the models with Sketchfab costs.
- Polycam
- Kaedim
Artificial intelligence (AI)
- Body measurement tools
- Tailor.Guide. The customer sends pictures of himself through the application, the software processes the measurements for the clothing manufacturer based on the pictures.
- SizeMe. A size recommendation tool that can be embedded in an online store.
- Virtusize (demo). Create a digital avatar of yourself and visually see how the clothes in the online store fit.
- Sizer. By scanning him-/herself, the user gets accurate measurements. The company offers an independent application, one embedded in the online store, and a customer user interface.
- BoldMetrics
- StyleMe
- Improving search recommendations in online stores - "shop assistant" (based on styles, colors, materials)
- Gives personal clothing recommendations based on wardrobe, self-portraits or purchase history
- Artificial intelligence as a designer
- Resleeve
- NewArc.ai – converts drawings into realistic images
- Fabrie
- Vue.ai: on-model imagery
- Midjourney
Digital fittings
With the help of digital fitting, you can try in advance how the clothes or jewelry will look with the help of AR technology, i.e. augmented reality. Digital fitting can be tried on a phone, tablet or, for example, a smart/virtual mirror. Augmented reality is 3D objects added on top of the real world. In this case, phones are used to photograph an object where 3D figures or objects appear. Examples of applications using AR technology are Snapchat and Pokemon Go.

- Lens Studio (Contents for the Snapchat application)
- LENS STUDION KÄYTTÖÖNOTTO OHJEET
- MetaSpark (Contents for Instagram)
- Effect House (Contents for Tik Tok)
- Zappar
- Blippar
- XR+
- Adobe Aero
- ARway.ai (indoor navigation, Route search and AR filters)
- Immersal (indoor navigation, Route search and AR filters)
- Vision Dixper (a platform that adds AR content to PC streams)
- Vuforia Augmented Reality SDK and Studio (AR for industrial sectors. Phones, tablets, Microsoft Hololens2, Magic Leap, Realwear glasses)
- Vyking – AR contents for mobile devices, mirrors. Own platform for creating AR content (cross-platform solution for iOS, Android, wechat, web pages or web store)
- DeepAR – AR SDK
Virtual galleries
Virtual galleries can digitally present art, products, services, etc. The virtual exhibition can be viewed from a computer, mobile device or it can be developed to be viewed with XR glasses. Within the framework of the project, virtual galleries on the market have been gathered in one table. The table compares different galleries, e.g. pricing, features and skills required for use.
